WWF 2024: Important yet boring bits

These expectations help manage organisers, teachers and participants.  These are subject to change if circumstances require and confirmed participants will be informed at the earliest decision point.

These must be read in conjunction with the shopify standard terms and conditions.

What will happen to my booking if the workshop cannot go ahead?

The workshop may have to be postponed for the following conditions:

  • any severe weather event that may compromise the safety of the woodfirers or
  • if minimum number of participants (6) is not met

For these scenarios, new dates will be proposed prioritising the preferences of the confirmed participants at the earliest opportunity.

What is the process to obtain a refund?

We would have invested in materials and foregone other work, so no refunds will be issued after 10 June 2024.

If you require a refund prior to this date,  please send a request email to australianclaytools@gmail.com and your payment method will be used.

Each refund is subject to a $90 processing fee (10%).

How risky is wood firing to my pottery?

Working as a collective, each participant will take upmost care with the ceramic work.

We cannot guarantee pots will survive the process, as there could be many ceramic casualties and unknowns associated in this practice. However, this is equally the delight of experimental firings.

How much stamina and physical exertion is needed?

You will be moving your own pots from the studio, to the kiln area. You will be making wadding and applying to your pots to secure your pottery onto kiln shelves. For days 1 and 2, each participant commit to at least two 4 hour shifts.

During these shifts, whilst wood will be prepared and cut to size prior to the workshop, some additional cutting may be required. Participants will need to transfer from storage piles to stoking areas, this can be done via wheel barrow or by hand.
