Hand Engineered by Humans
Designed, carved, assembled and oiled with ZERO precision engineering. No two tools will ever be the same (we've tried!) every tool comes with its own provenance story so making can take 10 days.
If needed earlier - tick priority box and I get on to it straight away. Similarly, if you don't care how long it takes, you'll be treated with a slow consumption pricing
Complementary Aged Finish
Complementary Aged Finish
Due to the age and richness of 100 year old wood, clayTools weather beautifully. The low maintenance finish gives an insight into the world it once saw. Like all tools, dry and wipe after use and re-oil as desired.

Washed, sanitised, protected & celebratory, what more do we want from our packaging?
Each clayTool comes with a certificate of authenticity, the heritage story, and the favourite "all about the base" - the material and how to care for it
The Origin Story
Starting her clay journey in 2018 in the Royal National Park, Australia, Kaljit found her love of the tactility and sensitivity of a material that was suited to her brash and intuitive demeanor. Then followed a corporate career crisis, angst for environmental miles as the clay love progressed, and finally a short stint at a wood recycler in Sydney - Wastewood.com.au, led to the birth of clayTools.
A micro business based in Australia manufacturing pottery tools from salvaged materials.
There's no grand vision or mission statement - well not yet anyway.
I'm just a girl standing in front of you, asking to be loved (damn you Notting Hill!) - I mean supported as I transition into clayology.
